Abstract

Abstract A theory is presented to study two classes of chemical reactions in liquids : conformational charges and proton transfer reactions. It represents a generalization of standard theories of band profiles of non-reactive liquids. Spectral behavior of these systems is discussed in detail. In the case of conformational changes a single parameter, the temperature, controls this behavior whereas two parameters, the temperature and the concentration, influence Raman band shapes in the case of proton transfer reactions.
