Abstract

The article offers a combination of critical philosophical reflection with design science in the context of the implications of popularising generative AI systems. Challenging the validity of comparing AI to human intelligence, the text describes such consequences in reference to the “technological cancer” hypothesis stated by an astrophysicist, Aurélien Barrau, as well as drafts possible ways of fighting such a cancer. Keywords: artificial intelligence (AI), social crisis, environmental crisis, critical design, critical thinking
