Abstract
Theatre in Ras Al Khaimah has a unique and intriguing history. Yet studies of theatre in the region tend to focus on Sharjah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, making little to no mention of performances in this northern emirate. This policy paper surveys landmark performances from the past, highlights the challenges and potential of present- day theatre activities, and makes recommendations for raising the profile of theatre in Ras Al Khaimah in the future.
