Abstract

Raga is a récit in-between autobiography, historiography, and ethnography. In Raga, Le Clézio aims to demystify the invisibility of the Oceanian Continent and the colonial violence to which it is subjected. This article examines the many facets of Le Clézio's approach of this continent, its positioning as both close and distant to the indigenous peoples of Oceania, his reservations and ambiguities as a committed travel writer.
