Abstract

Non-small cell lung cancer treatment has known remarkable progress these past few years with the rise of immunotherapy, which place is increasingly expanding among the therapeutic arsenal of these cancers. More and more patients benefit from such treatments, and concomitant or sequential combinations with radiation therapy become common at all stages of the disease.Despite theorical and pre-clinical seducing data concerning a possible synergistic effect of the association, the question of clinical relevance remained open, with few evidence available on effectiveness and possible supra-additive toxicity especially pulmonary. In this article, we will review the theoretical and pre-clinical basis of the association, then we will discuss successively the available data on effectiveness and toxicity, for all stages of the disease.© 2019 SPLF.
