Abstract
THE object in presenting this series of twenty-three case reports of uterine fibroids and menorrhagias of the menopause, treated by radiotherapy, is twofold: In the first place, emphasis is given to the fact that deep X-ray therapy is good for 100 per cent value in the treatment of uterine fibroids whether associated with, or unaccompanied by, hemorrhage, and in the treatment of uterine hemorrhages of the menopause, whether dependent on fibroid conditions in the uterus, or occurring without demonstrable physical changes in the female pelvic organs. In the second place, I wish to challenge the attention of the medical profession as a whole, and to deplore the general lack of knowledge that prevails with reference to the efficacy of deep X-ray therapy in the conditions above enumerated.
