Abstract

The radioluminescence characteristics of CaSO 4 : Dy,Cu phosphors were investigated under excitation by 4 MeV linear accelerator electrons. The emission spectra feature the Dy 3+ lines and a broad UV band around 350 nm which increases with increasing Cu doping. This luminescence decays much faster than the Dy lines. The experimental results presented provide an explanation for some of the thermoluminescence properties of CaSO 4 : Dy,Cu.
