Abstract

To the Editor.—In answer to the letter from A. J. Drinnan I should like to submit the following comment. Foreign bodies of dental origin are probably number one in foreign body incidence at the present time. The American Bronchoesophagological Association became keenly aware of the problem over five years ago and formed a committee headed by Dr. Paul Bunker, Aberdeen, SD, which did a great deal of investigative, preventive, and public relations work in this regard. Much data was accumulated by this committee whose present chairman is Dr. Gabriel Tucker, Jr., Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia. The writer is referred to these two bronchoesophagologists who have performed exhaustive studies in this regard.
