Abstract

This book is a new volume in Golden's Diagnostic Radiology Series, which is a collection of regional and topic specific diagnostic radiology texts. This concise book mainly covers the plain roentgenogram and pluridirectional tomographic evaluation of the nose, paranasal sinuses, and nasopharynx. Each major part begins with brief, practical chapters on basic anatomy, roentgen technique, and roentgen anatomy. These chapters are well illustrated with helpful line drawings and appropriate radiographs. Following these are sections on inflammation, trauma, and benign and malignant neoplasms in each major anatomic region. The authors are from a cancer institute so, as one might expect, the material is slightly biased toward tumors. However, the sections on trauma and inflammation are more than adequate. The chapters on neoplasia are excellent, with an abundance of both routine and unusual case material, which is handled in a very practical manner. The text is concise and the references adequate.
