Abstract

AbstractThapsigargin (1) selectively labelled in the butyrate moiety of the molecule was isolated after hydridocarbonyltris (triphenylphosphine) rhodium (I) catalyzed reduction of the product (5) obtained by reacting debutanoylthapsigargin (2) with 3‐butenoic anhydride. The use of tritium gas as a reducing agent afforded labelled thapsigargin with a specific activity of 78 Ci/mmol.
