Abstract

Summary o (1) Tables are given showing the incidence of active pulmonary tuberculosis discovered by mass radiography, by x-ray of patients with symptoms referred by their doctor and by routine radiography at a factory. (2) There is a possibility that the relative sex incidence of tuberculosis in young adults in the Edgware and Harrow chest clinic areas is the reverse of that usually reported. (3) The incidence of tuberculosis amongst cases referred by their practitioners is high. The importance of adequate accommodation and x-ray facilities at Chest Clinics is emphasized. (4) Assuming an adequate chest clinic service, suggestions are made for the more profitable employment of mass radiography.
