Abstract
This chapter presents radiographic testing (RT) in China and abroad. RT is a time-honored important method to assure the quality of a product. In order to occupy a market, competition is very intense between RT and UT. China has developed RT in all respects, and has the ability to produce and furnish all the materials and equipment needed in RT except some high techniques such as industrial CT and Compton Scatter Imaging. Currently, China is working out a new method that is called “Man-Machine and Gross-Fine Composing Technique.” This reveals that workpiece with evident defects is rejected and the good ones are passed. The workpiece with critical defects are recognized and processed automatically by the computer. The machine accurately calculates the size and location of the defects with the three-direction images from real time radioscopy. The correct judgment is made up and extract defects accurately from an image. The position of the three-dimensional image of defects is set up by virtue of a three-direction processed picture. The calculator technique is applicable more into the field of RT so as to preselect the radiographic parameters, assure the image quality, recognize the defect, and evaluate the material.
