Elbow pain due to elbow dysplasia is a common cause of forelimb lameness in young large breed dogs. ‘Elbow dysplasia’ is a generic term used to describe a group of developmental disorders of the canine elbow. Dogs suffering from elbow pain may have one or more primary lesions affecting one or both elbows. Conditions grouped under this common heading include: fragmentation of the medial coronoid process (FMCP) osteochondritis dissecans of the medial part of the humeral condyle (OCD) ununited anconeal process (UAP) elbow incongruity.
