Abstract
Purpose: In modern society, which is a super-aging society, lengthening healthy life expectancy is the important issue. Motor organ disease is one of the main factors (20-25%) to shorten healthy life expectancy. Physicians and health professions should maintain and improve mobility of the elderly. Although it may be actually difficult to prevent and repair morphological abnormality of ‘undouki’’ which means locomotive organs, keeping its function normal is required. In Japan, the most aging country in the world, the concept of' “locomotive syndrome” (Locomo) was established by the Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) in 2007.
