Abstract
Purpose: Distal femoral osteotomy (DFO) has long been accepted as a treatment modality for lateral compartment knee osteoarthritis. This study presents the largest series of distal femoral osteotomies for the treatment of lateral unicompartmental arthritis from a UK specialist centre. It is hypothesised that the use of modern indications, planning, and surgical techniques leads to an accurate, safe and long-term treatment for lateral compartment arthritis of the knee.
