Abstract
Rocky Mountain spotted fever is a febrile disease caused by a tick-borne rickettsia. Diffuse small vessel vasculitis may result in thrombosis of small vessels and capillary damage and can result in radiographic abnormalities. Cardiomegaly with pulmonary edema, interstitial infiltrates, patchy alveolar infiltrates, and pleural effusions may be detected in varying combinations on the chest radiograph. Soft-tissue necrosis may also be observed.
