Radio-Electronic Warfare as a Conflict Interaction in the Information Space

Abstract

Contemporary conflicts between countries are increasingly taking place not in the direct armed clashes, but in the information field. In this connection, the analysis of the possibilities of the application of the radio-electronic means during the information conflict is of scientific interest. The possibilities of applying modern radio-electronic aids in the course of information conflicts are considered and analyzed. Technological base of modern information communication systems is radio electronics, therefore technically such conflictual interaction is provided by the methods and aids of electronic warfare (EW). The capacious synthetic concept of EW comprises radio-electronic reconnaissance (ER), which identifies the enemy’s EA and extracts information about them necessary for the ES, as well as radio electronic masking (EM), opposing the radio electronic reconnaissance of the enemy in the information conflict. The conceptual bases and prospects of the development of the EW subject area are discussed on the basis of modern technological achievements, digital methods of signal processing in information communication systems, management of information systems and media. The peculiarities and directions of the development of conflict interaction in the information space are considered.
