Abstract

This paper presents the results of recorded changes in the 226Ra, 228Ra and 137Cs content of the moss Polytrichum commune in the Beskidy region of Poland. It was found that the influence of mineralization was proportional to the annual rainfall at a nearby power station. This was confirmed by analysis of contamination in the region. The results are analysed in relation to distance from a coal-fired power station.
