Abstract

The current status of 14C measurements at the University of Arizona accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) facility are summarized. New developments in measurements of in situ produced 14C by the spallation of oxygen by cosmic-ray neutrons in terrestrial rocks are also discussed. These results indicate that spallogenic 14C can be measured in high-altitude rock samples, and that the measured production rates agree well with theoretical estimates.
