Abstract

Modern radiometric methods for the determination of alpha emitting radionuclides in the environment are reviewed. These include alpha spectrometry, liquid scintillation techniques, and gamma spectrometry. Aspects such as a sample pretreatment, separation techniques and counting source preparation are considered.
