Abstract

A condensation monodisperse aerosol generator has been adapted to the production of radioactively labeled particles by using radioactive condensation nuclei. To this purpose the inactive solution used for the nuclei generation has been replaced with a low carrier radioactive solution. The aerodynamic activity distribution is narrow and coincident with the macroscopic mass distribution. In addition the experiments show that the activity is not readily leachable and is bound to the particles firmly enough so to allow most of deposition experiments to be performed.
