Abstract

A new in-flight calibration method for scintillator photomultiplier assembly is described. The “pulse light source” produced by a collimated 241Am radioactive alpha source kept on a thin CsI(Tl) disc was used as the calibration source. This method is particularly suitable for thin scintillators. Its advantages and other possible applications are indicated.
