Abstract

The decay of 232Th has been studied using high-resolution Ge and Si surface barrier detectors. Th was radiochemically purified from its daughter products for alpha - and gamma -spectroscopic studies. Two gamma -rays with energies 63.8 and 140.8 keV were assigned to the decay of 232Th. The relative gamma -ray intensities, total transition intensities and alpha branchings to the first two excited states of 228Ra due to the alpha decay of 232Th have been estimated.
