Abstract

This paper predicts the characteristics of radio wave propagation in urban environment by four types of parabolic equation (PE) methods, including 1-way/2-way two-dimensional PE(1W-2DPE/2W-2DPE) and 1-way/2-way three-dimensional PE(1W-3DPE/2W-3DPE). An open street scenario was modeled and simulated. The calculation values of path loss in line of sight (LOS) link generally align with the measured value, which shows the methods are feasible. As to the results of simulation, compared and discussed the advantages and disadvantages of the four models, and proposed the guidance for the application scenario of the four PE methods.
