Abstract

We present the parameters and the results of the major pulsar searches carried out since the discovery of the original millisecond pulsar, including unbiased large scale surveys and searches directed at supernova remnants, globular clusters and other objects possibly associated with pulsars. We discuss the factors affecting the sensitivity, and the capability of pulsar search experiments to probe different volumes of the pulsar parameter space. We give information on some experiments planned for the near future.
