Abstract
Time-based position location algorithms, such as direct solution, iterative least squares, Taylor series and Chan's algorithm, are analyzed and an algorithm using the decision feedback method is proposed to mitigate the estimation error of a mobile station. The proposed method re-estimates the location of the mobile station by reusing a calculated result. The performance of the proposed method is analyzed and compared with the method without decision feedback. The comparison is made with respect to position location error, standard deviation and the divergence number according to a time delay profile. Simulation results show that the proposed method is superior to that of not using decision feedback.
