Abstract

In the absence of radiowave propagation data for Rajasthan, a study of radio climate has been made for the benefit of those engaged in planning of radio links in this area. It is observed that variability curves given by CCIR for Sahara desert may not be suitable for Rajasthan. Study of ΔN variation has indicated that non-standard propagation conditions are likely to be experienced throughout the year with suband super-refractive conditions having greater percentage of occurrence. A model of the troposphere for Rajasthan has been worked out and a curve between the effective earth radius factor and surface refractivity has been given.
