Abstract

Three patients with periampullary carcinoma treated by radical pancreatoduodenectomy are described. One patient survived for seven years without evidence of recurrence after pancreatoduodenectomy for carcinoma of the ampulla of Vater. One patient survived for six years without evidence of recurrence after radical pancreatoduodenectomy for carcinoma of the distal common duct. The third patient survived for four years after an operation for carcinoma of the head of the pancreas, and had no evidence of recurrence at the time of a re-exploratory operation.
