Abstract

In this issue of Chem Catalysis , Fan and Zhou describe the use of the widely available radical initiator azobis(isobutyronitrile) (AIBN) as an effective HCN surrogate for the Ni-catalyzed transfer hydrocyanation of unsaturated substrates. Different from the prior state of the art, the key intermediate is formed by a radical pathway.
