Abstract

The radical copolymerization of 2-methoxy-4-formylphenyl (meth)acrylates with L-(−)-menthyl (meth)acrylates has been studied, and the reactivity ratios have been determined. It has been found that the bulk copolymerization of these monomers% results in insoluble copolymers when the content of 2-methoxy-4-formylphenyl (meth)acrylates in the pristine mixture exceeds 36 mol % and conversion exceeds ∼30%. However, in the course of this reaction, soluble copolymers are formed in solution.
