Abstract
AbstractA simple protocol to generate radical chlorine species by ligand exchange in hypervalent iodine(III) compounds is reported. Radical chlorine species, not electrophilic chlorine species, are required for Pd‐catalyzed directed CH chlorination and ammonium salts can be used as radical chlorine sources.
