Abstract
An attempt is made to analyse the conceptual and numerical relation of the radiation weighting factor introduced in ICRP Publication 60 to several effective quality factors. The adoption of a set of W R values for neutrons different from that given in ICRP 60 is proposed in order to achieve a reasonable relation between the effective dose, the effective dose equivalent and the ambient dose equivalent
