Abstract
Critical targets for radiation-induced erectile dysfunction have been proposed, with most studies supporting the proximal penis as an important site-specific structure. Pre-implant erectile function and dose to the proximal penis are the strongest predictors of post-treatment erectile function. Refinements in technique that minimize radiation dose to normal surrounding structures, especially the proximal penis, should result in improved rates of potency preservation.
