Abstract
“TEMPEST” is the government codeword for the unintentional radiation leakage of information from electronic equipment. Theoretically, such radiation leakage can occur from almost any equipment. In IT systems, the most likely leakage is from the Visual Display Unit (VDU) drive circuitry. This effect can be unintentionally enhanced by the video cable which connects the computer base unit to the VDU itself.
