Abstract
Structural scoliosis can be produced in the spines of rabbits by irradiating the vertebrae asymmetrically. The resulting unequal bone growth yields wedging of the vertebral bodies with the lesser height toward the irradiated side. A single dose of 1,000 r is required to induce definite wedging in the spines of young rabbits.
