Abstract

The general solution for the scattering of electromagnetic radiation by a tilted infinite dielectric cylinder is discussed. Angular scattering curves of 360 degrees for two polarizations are presented for given values of the size parameter and the incident polarization angle. The radiation pressure on tilted cylinders for arbitrary polarization is calculated and shown not necessarily to be within the incident plane.
