Abstract

AbstractThe planar isomer of perhydrotriphenylene (PHTP) is a new host molecule for the inclusion polymerization of butadiene. By γ‐irradiation of the PHTP‐monomer adduct an inclusion compound between PHTP and the polymer is obtained, as revealed by its melting point. The recovered polymer has a highly regular trans‐1.4‐structure. The effect of different variables (dose, dose‐rate, PHTP/monomer ratio) has also been studied.
