Abstract

We present line surface fluxes from the red dwarf flare star AD Leo in its quiescent state. IUE and ground-based instruments cover the UV and optical (1000–9000 Å) domains of the spectrum. The observed radiation losses from chromospheric and transition region lines amount to 4.0 * 106 erg cm−2s−1 and 2.7 * 105erg cm−2s−1, respectively. Further, from an analogy with solar active regions we estimate the total radiative energy loss in all lines formed between 25.000 K and 250.000 K to be of the order of 106 – 107 erg cm−2s−1.KeywordsEmission LineSolar Active RegionTriplet LineWeak Emission LineTransition Region LineThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
