Abstract

Calcium pyrophosphate (Ca 2P 2O 7) powder prepared from thulium nitrate aqueous solutions exhibited thermoluminescence with X-ray and γ-ray irradiation. The thermoluminescence was enhanced about 100 times by adding ca 7 wt% Tm to Ca 2P 2O 7 as a dopant. It was suggested from thermal and optical fadings observed that there were shallow hole and electron traps on Tm-doped Ca 2P 2O 7 powder surface.
