10.2217/FON.15.121 © 2015 Future Medicine Ltd The role of adjuvant mediastinal radiation (RT) in improving disease-free survival in Hodgkin’s disease and breast cancer (BC) is well known. However, this survival advantage is accompanied by the late cardiac sequelae of radiation. Radiationinduced coronary artery disease (RICAD) is a challenging clinical entity and a major contributor to cardiovascular (CV) mortality in cancer survivors. In this review, we discuss the pathophysiology, surveillance and management challenges of RICAD.
