Abstract

Fe 80B 20 amorphous alloy was bombarded with 100–300 keV helium ions at room temperature. Surface erosion appeared mainly with blister exfoliations. Critical fluence for blister and flake formation were estimated to be 5.4 × 10 21 and 2.1 × 1022 ions/m 2 for 100 and 300 keV He irradiations, respectively. Small helium bubbles (10 – 30 nm in diameter) were found with TEM for the fluence ranging from 2.3 × 10 19 to 5.4 × 10 21 ions/m 2 . Small crystalline particles were distributed in some portions of irradiated area.
