Abstract

This mechanico-optical device was designed to facilitate field alignment when using a hyperbaric chamber. Optical range-finders using convergent beams are subject to error when used with such chambers because of refraction in the Perspex chamber walls. The light beams from this device normally strike the Perspex at right angles, thus giving minimal deviation. Three sets of cross-hairs are used for alignment. One set of cross-hairs (A) is built into the 60Co treatment head to centre the entrance beam.
