Abstract

Anomalous transport due to the excitation of convective motion in the drift waves is investigated. A set of model equations describing the interaction among the drift waves and the convective cells is derived, and the general dispersion relation is presented for the decay instability. It is shown that the spectrum of the growth rate is broad and that an excited convective cell by the drift waves can cause a radial flow (the direction along the density-inhomogeneity) in the cold ion plasma.
