Abstract

A few competitive models for lens distortion are presented and their accuracy is considered. Effectiveness of these models is tested comparatively against ray-tracing grid distortion data. Emphasis is made on retrofocus lens design typically occurring in low-cost camera systems. Theoretical conclusions are supported with practical camera calibration data.
