Abstract

The local gas hold-up and average gas bubble velocity in three-phase fluidized beds (TPFBs) were measured by optical fiber probes. A radial gas dispersion model was applied to analyse the gas hold-up distribution in the TPFB. The gas dispersion was found high near the grid and the dispersion decreased sharply to a much lower level and stabilized at higher axial positions.
