Abstract
Recent advances in radar target recognition are presented. Modern radar systems provide information not available in other sensors with sufficient details for target recognition. Target recognition approaches using different types of radar systems are presented, and recent advances in target recognition approaches are discussed. Approaches to improve the performance of target detection by the fusion of information from different types of radars are presented. The reduction of speckle noise in radar images is important as imaging radar is inherently noisy. Recent advances in speckle noise reduction approaches are also presented.
