Abstract

We have postulated the scattering problems of plane waves incident on targets in free space and random media for circular polarization. The RCS of target with concave-convex cross-section was calculated for different incident angles and SCL. We have made clear the effects that have observed influence on the RCS, they are: the target configuration and the SCL. These characteristics are realized apart from the incident angle and the circular polarization as well as the case with linear polarizations. The behavior of RCS undergoes smooth fluctuations in both cases of free space and random medium. However this oscillated behavior is less than that in case of H-wave incidence. We have made clear the fact that RCS behaviour depends remarkably on the polarization of incident waves. Therefore, we stress that using H-wave incidence should be avoided for detecting targets with low frequency limit and instead E-wave or C-wave incidence should be used.
