Abstract

Background and aims: Merkel Cell Carcinoma (MCC) is a rare, aggressive neuroendocrine cutaneous malignancy with rising incidence. Since MCC is predominantly diagnosed in White patients, limited data is available regarding baseline presentation, treatment patterns, and survival for Black MCC patients. Our aim was to address this gap by identifying racial differences in the MCC patient population. Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort analysis comparing White and Black MCC patients from 2006-2017 using the National Cancer Database.
