Abstract
Intercostal catheters (ICC) are an integral component of post-operative care following lung resection. Traditionally analogue drains with underwater seals have been used for evacuation of fluid and air from the pleural space. Recently, the emergence of digital chest drains has changed practice regarding management of ICCs. We sought to describe our initial experience with the Thopas+ ™ digital chest drain in non-pneumonectomy lung resection.
