Abstract

As the authors of this handbook point out in the preface, bedside ultrasonography is no longer an experimental modality. Physicians providing care to critically ill patients, whether in academic settings or small rural hospitals, are increasingly expected to incorporate ultrasonography into their practice. This handbook provides a very practical, user-friendly approach to the use of ultrasonography in emergency and critical care settings.
